Gasper

This wandering spirit is rumored to have been human once, until it found a cursed hat that turned him into an unamused ghost! Gasper is the ghost type kapsamon, and as such knows a variety of spooky moves which are deadly at close range. The magical powers of Gasper’s hat however also allow him to use some elemental attacks of the fire, electric and snow types. A very useful hat indeed, but don’t look at it too closely… Did it just blink?

Gasper’s ghost type gives him some protection against rock and snow moves. Rocks will just pass through his ethereal body, and how could snow ever make the dead even colder? But though stones and ice may pass through him, electricity can shock even this restless soul. You must also worry about the archenemy of the ghost type: the heart type. The heart and ghost type are mutually strong against each other, so in a fight between Gasper and Eyeball, the first shot to hit shall end the match!

Eyeball

This strange kapsamon is out of this world… literally. An alien lifeform that came down to the planet to observe the native creatures, but ended up becoming so infatuated for them that it became a kapsamon itself! Eyeball is one and only heart kapsamon. It’s main weapon? Love. Its heart type moves are not very strong, but they make up with range, speed and style. It can also learn other types of moves such as passionate fire moves, melancholic water moves and dark, twisted ghost moves. Eyeball has learnt a lot about the world of kapsamon, it’s inhabitants and their emotions, but not all of it was pretty…

Eyeball blind love cannot be hurt too easily by fire or plant type attacks. Snow type attacks on the other hand will cool down this kapsamon’s warm heart. It must also watch out for the foil of the heart type: The ghost type. Ghostly moves cause much hurt to the heart, heart moves are one of the only weaknesses of a ghost. Understanding this duality is vital for Eyeball to survive the Battle Royale. What does Eyeball think about having to battle other kapsamons? Eyeball has no mouth to speak, so we may never know…

Soulamander

One of the first kapsamons ever discovered, these small lizards originate from a deep jungle far across the ocean. They are often overlooked due to their size, evidenced by the fact that they were discovered when someone accidently stepped on one! The discoverer gained worldwide fame, but also had to buy their left shoes 4 sizes smaller than their right shoes for the rest of their life. They may look cute and small, but Soulamanders can have a bit of a mean streak if you make them angry…

Though initially believed to be ghosts, Soulamanders are actually plant type kapsamons. The matter coming out of their backs is not a spectral tail but pure life-filled energy which they create by absorbing sunlight and water, just like a plant. Predictively as a result, Water moves and Heart moves are not very effective against them. The comparisons to spirits may not have been completely wrong, since Rock moves are as weak against them as they are against ghosts. In addition to that, Soulamanders have been observed using Ghost moves, as well as Water moves, Heart moves and of course Plant moves. There’s certainly more to this kapsamon than meets the eye… But if you ever find yourself facing an angered Soulamander, there’s a simple way to avoid the same outcome as that first ever encounter: Fire moves and Snow moves.

Snowkid

“In the late hours of winter days, when not a single soul is in sight, the Snowkids come out of hiding and stay up all night…” is how The Tale Of The Snowkids begins, the classic children’s story about beings made out of snow who sleep in snow piles during the winter days and come out to play at night in empty parks and schoolyards. It has never been proven that the Snowkids seen in the Wilderness act as they do in that story, or even that they are the same creatures that it describes. But when people started noticing these snowy kapsamons spying them from bushes and trees in their winter hikes, they started referring to them as Snowkids, and the name caught on. Best not to look to deep into their origins, as everyone knows how The Tale Of The Snowkids ends for the child protagonist who got too curious about them…

The Snowkid is a Snow type kapsamon. Their cold, insulated bodies make Plant moves and Electric moves weak against them, but a warm Fire will melt them with ease. Snowkids seem to have a strange connection to the spiritual. Ghost type moves are very effective at repelling them, but they can use Ghost type moves themselves. Snow moves and Plant moves are part of their repertoire too. And strangely, though they may seem very cold and stoic, they have been seen using Heart type moves as well. Could they possibly just be misunderstood kids looking for a friend?

Claude

This kapsamon is a very recent discovery, found just a week before the first Battle Royale! It was found after an investigation that followed from reports of strange weather discovered a whole nest of Claudes underwater. This kapsamon is first born underwater and stays there until it reaches maturity, making it a type of amphibian. Once they have reached adulthood, Claudes will spend most of their time on dry land, returning to their native riverbed only to lay eggs (the topic of Claude and kapsamon reproduction as a whole is still debated). Their docile behaviour and cute appearance have made them a favourite of many people. A recent study caused outrage when it found a possible connection between this kapsamon and the venomous fog that appears in the Wilderness during the Battle Royale. Is it possible that Claudes are distant relatives from the mysterious source of the fog?

Claude’s fluffy body is composed of 99% Water. As such, fire and snow will barely affect it. Unfortunately for Claude, plant moves can absorb its mass on contact, making them highly dangerous for it. Electricity has a strong effect on Claude too. It is common to see Claudes hiding underwater during storms. Some Claudes however have managed to harness the power of electric moves for themselves. Claudes can also typically hail rocks on their enemies, as well as use water moves and snow moves to fend of fiends. When a Claude uses too many of these moves in a day, it will lose some of its mass. They will regain quickly though by taking water from the air, or in some cases by diving into a river. It is an inventive kapsamon for sure.

Sterling

A rocky ball full of minerals and gemstones. Rumours say that inside this kapsamon is a core made out of pure gold! Many greedy visitors of the Wilderness have chased after Sterlings to snatch some of the gems on the outside of their bodies, but most come back with empty hands or with broken hands in the worst cases. Sterlings can hop and roll much faster than one may think for a heavy stone ball. And if you manage to catch up to one, its heavy hitting Rock moves will quickly turn around who the prey is and who the hunter is.

Sterling’s tough rock body is barely scratched by heart moves and electric moves, but it isn’t invulnerable. Plant moves and Water moves can crack through its armor and inflict some heavy damage. And though it specializes in rock moves, some variants of the Sterling posses various Water, fire, and snow moves. Another rumour about Sterling says that these variants are full of aquamarines, rubies and diamonds. This is probably just a complete falsehood… But there is yet to be someone brave enough to prove it.

Robodude

The first (and last) attempt by a robotics company to create a sentient robot. The R.O.B.O.D.U.D.E was going to be marketed as a friend that had real feelings and thoughts, at a very reasonable price! The campaign was shut down however when a large amount of prototypes became smart enough to escape into the Wilderness, costing the company a fortune and leading to its bankruptcy. Now, many years later, these robots continue to live in the Wilderness and have become so entrenched in it as to be recognized as kapsamons by most. They have gotten some scratches over time, but they have still managed to outlive their creators without much trouble. Given their unfinished nature, it is unknown how intelligent or sentient ROBODUDES really are, and if they truly do have emotions as advertised. Unfortunately, the ability to communicate was a feature that never got implemented for them.

The ROBODUDE is an Electric kapsamon. As the marketing campaign advertised: “The R.O.B.O.D.U.D.E has a slick non-corrosive shell that is resistant to Water! But be careful with Rocks! The R.O.B.O.D.U.D.E’s Emotion Registration Center (E.R.C) is easily overloaded by strong displays of emotion, such as the Heart powers of kapsamons!...”. That old marketing pitch coincidentally mentions the types of moves that ROBODUDE has learnt to use in the wild: Water, Rock, and Heart, in addition to Electric moves of course. It seems that it learnt to use other types of kapsamon moves by imitating the attacks that other kapsamons used against it. Above all else, this kapsamon can adapt and survive like no other. And like the commercials used to say: “Its heart loves you fully, it will fend of a bully, the Incredible R.O.B.O.D.U.D.E is a friend like no other!”.

Funguy

This unfortunately named creature lives a life that is anything but fun. After being on the bottom of the food chain for a long time, these mushrooms developed the ability to use fire moves to defend itself against its predators. Sadly they did not simultaneously develop immunity to fire. Over time Funguys have become more resistant to their own fire attacks, to the point where they do not lose Hp when using fire moves, but they still get burned if they use too many of them in a day. Many Funguys are additionally born with one leg shorter than the other due to a genetic mutation that propagated through their populations. They really can’t catch a break, can they?

To ease their pain, Funguys have started trying to use other types of moves, with varying success. Some Funguys have managed to learn plant, rock, and electric moves, but fire moves are still their main form of defense. Plant moves don’t hurt them much, and they are not scared of ghosts at all. But while sticks may not break its bones, rocks will make a dent on them. Water moves will also cause them more pain than other moves. Life in the Wilderness can be cruel for them, but the Funguys continue to survive despite all adversity. In a way, they can be seen as an example to follow. Now matter how beat up they get, they always get right back up. Well, usually.
